Romy Hernandez Trio brings together three musicians connected by a shared love of jazz, Afro-Cuban traditions, and improvisation.

Romy Hernandez is a Cuban-born pianist, composer, and educator based in Melbourne. Her music blends jazz, Latin, and contemporary influences, shaped by her journey from Havana to Australia. Her latest solo piano album, Poems of Bliss and Loss, explores migration, identity, and her musical roots.

Lucas Taranto is a Melbourne-based bassist and double bassist recognised for his versatility across jazz, Latin, soul, and contemporary music. A highly regarded performer in the Australian music scene, he has collaborated with a wide range of artists in both live and studio settings and toured internationally with Gotye.

Ollie Shute is a Melbourne-based drummer and educator with a passion for jazz, funk, fusion, and Latin music. He performs regularly with leading ensembles including La Influencia, Sazón, the Paris Cat Big Band, and the Daryl McKenzie Jazz Orchestra, and leads his own Afro-Cuban ensemble, Son y Fuerza.
